Without exception groups, corporate functions, parties, birthdays and weddings ALL have a brilliant time at “Die Strandloper”. A little pre-planning makes the function run smoother…

* It is essential that the group are fully briefed as to what to expect.
* This is a casual, informal and relaxed seafood restaurant
* Informal beachwear is the order of the day – no high heels!!
*We are right on the beach – just one hour away from Cape Town
* Lunch or Dinner will take at least 3 to 4hours – or longer!!
* Eat as much as you like from mussels to crayfish (half a kreef p.p.) – there are about 10 courses
* Coming by coach? Have a glass of champers and orange on the way – it’s a great relaxer!!
* Do you play a musical instrument? Bring it along!
* Want to play games on the beach? Bring your equipment!
* Plan to arrive at 12pm (lunch) or 6pm (dinner)
*If bringing your own wine or beer, allow at least a litre or six pack per person – it seems to evaporate in the heat ….!! And don’t forget the ice to keep it cool!
· And finally, parties of 15+ need to pay a R1000 deposit to secure the booking, before it is confirmed

Weddings on the beach
All of our beach weddings, without exception, have been very successful, whether there be two guests or two hundred! The ambiance, charm and location all make for a stunning day.

We have outlined some ideas and suggestions, but please note whatever is suggested may be changed to suit your needs and requirements.

You can have a lunch time wedding or an evening one. For lunch we encourage guests to arrive at 12 noon ( 18:00 for the evening ). The guests would have a couple of drinks to relax, and at 12:30pm ( 18:30 ) we would commence serving our first two courses. The bride would then arrive at 13:00 ( 19:00 ) when we would then move down to the beach for the ceremony.The ceremony normally takes between 15 – 20 minutes, afterwhich the bride and groom would be led by the minister to a table under cover to sign the register.We would then continue serving the various courses of seafood.

Lunch weddings are best when the weather is not so hot and where the guests would want to return to Cape Town. Evening weddings are great for the sun setting behind the happy couple and where the guests will relax and enjoy themselves AND stay over in the area. We have a selection of charming bed and breakfast accommodation, and a honeymoon suite to recommend.

The use of the venue is free. Exclusivity of the venue can be made with prior arrangement otherwise you will be allocated your own area. The 3-4 hour seafood extravaganza costs

For a nominal fee, we have a superb preacher ( licenced ) available. He is very charasmatic and will marry all denominations in English or Afrikaans.

We recommend the use of a delightful floral arch to stand under when being married. This really enhances the effect and looks great. If you wish to create your own archway, please feel free to do so.

Freelance Photographers are welcome. Should you require a photographer, we can gladly arrange this for you.
