Geelbek Restaurant and Wedding Venue

Geelbek Restaurant stimulates all five senses when it comes to plating up West Coast and South African cuisine.

The restaurant is situated on the lagoon in the Geelbek main house. This Cape Dutch
building is a National Monument and was renovated three times since it was first built
in 1744. Geelbek has built up a reputation for fine dining in a beautiful setting. Enjoy
birds, sunshine and the views of flamingos while enjoying your food. Geelbek serves
traditional food with a colonial flair.

They use the freshest produce and prioritise incorporating local ingredients.
All recipes are well rooted in our heritage with some of the recipes being more than
300 years old. Typically South African ingredients like tamarind, cardamom, sour
fig, caraway, aniseed, honeybush and cinnamon are used.  They do however move with the times and provide trendy twists to the old classics. Some popular dishes include: snoek salad with strawberries, bobotie, our unique ostrich burgers and Cape Malay curries.

Geelbek only stock regional wines and have been awarded a Gold Award for best
wine list 2005, 2006, 2007 by Diners Club International.

They have also received the following accolades:
